In August 1954, Wuri Elementary School established the Rongquan branch class in Rongquan Village and the Xuetian branch class in Xuetian Village. In August 1955, the Rongquan and Xuetian branch classes were merged to form the Shiuhkuang Branch School of Wuri Elementary School, established by Principal Yang Chun-Yong.
In September 1957, it became independent as Shiuhkuang Elementary School. The first principal was Mr. Yang Jin-Lian.
In August 1962, Principal Yang Jin-Lian retired, and Mr. Guo Zhong-Ji took over.
In September 1966, Principal Guo Zhong-Ji was transferred, and Mr. Wu Zhuo-Xiong took over.
In 1968, with the implementation of the nine-year compulsory education, the school was renamed "Shiuhkuang Elementary School, Wuri Township, Taichung County."
In September 1974, Principal Wu Zhuo-Xiong retired, and Mr. Liu Yu-Jie took over.
In August 1986, Principal Liu Yu-Jie retired, and Mr. Chen Xin-Rong took over.
In February 1999, Principal Chen Xin-Rong retired, and Mr. Chen Hong-Yu took over.
In December 2010, Taichung County and City merged, and the school was renamed "Shiuhkuang Elementary School, Wuri District, Taichung City."
In February 2011, Principal Chen Hong-Yu retired, and Ms. Wu Gui-Fen took over.
In August 2018, Principal Wu Gui-Fen was transferred, and Mr. Xu Qing-Chang took over.
The school land was donated by 41 local gentlemen, including Mr. Yang Ming-Chun, and provided free of charge for school use, with an area of 1.467 hectares. The school address was No. 13, Chenggong West Road, Rongquan Village, Wuri Township, Taichung County, located on the southern slope of Xuetian Mountain, adjacent to the Chenggongling military camp, in an elegant environment. It is close to Chenggong Railway Station and Wangtian Interchange, with convenient transportation.
In 1979, due to the construction of the Zhongshan Freeway, part of the school land was expropriated for freeway use, after which the school land area was 8,841 square meters.
On July 15, 1993, the overall campus plan was approved by the fourth review of the Taichung County Campus Planning Advisory Group.
In 1995, land was expropriated to complete the overall campus planning and expand and reconstruct classrooms. After expropriation, the total school area was 1.278675 hectares. Later, national land was appropriated for the expansion of the basketball court, bringing the total school land area to 1.400011 hectares.
In 1997, the new school buildings (Buildings A and B) were completed, and the entire campus became magnificent.
Due to early land donations (accounting for 2/3 of the school land) not being transferred, and for the overall development of the school, relocation was approved by the Taichung City Government on February 10, 2012 (Letter Fu-Shou-Jiao-Xiao-Zi No. 1010018415). The relocation funds were approved by the Taichung City Council on January 7, 2013 (Letter Yi-Shi-Zi No. 1020000038).
The construction of the new school buildings for relocation began with the groundbreaking on January 16, 2014, and was completed and accepted on January 16, 2017. The school officially relocated on February 1, 2017.
In August 2024, Principal Xu Qing-Chang was transferred, and Ms. Lin Shu-Ling took over.
